Gaby Moreno Brings Her Bilingual Sound to Musco Center

10.13.26

Musco Center for the Arts welcomes Grammy and Latin Grammy winning artist Gaby Moreno to the stage on Friday, Oct. 30, at 7:30 p.m. for a night Billboard has called "nothing short of mesmerizing."

Moreno is a singer-songwriter and producer whose warm, soulful sound moves effortlessly between English and Spanish. Since leaving her native Guatemala for Los Angeles, she has released nine albums and built an impressive list of honors, including a 2024 Grammy for best Latin pop album for "X Mí (Vol. 1)," Grammy nominations for "Alegoría" and "Ilusión," and two Latin Grammy Awards. A defining voice in modern Americana, she has shared stages with artists such as Tracy Chapman, Ani DiFranco, Mavis Staples, Buena Vista Social Club and Chris Thile.

Her work reaches well beyond music. Moreno co-wrote the theme song for "Parks and Recreation" and contributed music to "Orange Is the New Black," "The Valet" and Guillermo del Toro's "Cabinet of Curiosities." She also wrote and performed "El Saber" for the acclaimed film "Radical." Her album "Dusk," co-produced with Dan Knobler and featuring Oscar Isaac on "Luna de Xelajú," marked a deeply personal turn in her career and led to standout appearances on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and "Good Morning America." In March 2026, she made her Broadway debut as Persephone in "Hadestown," all while continuing her advocacy as the first UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador from Guatemala.

The performance runs approximately 90 minutes with no intermission. Tickets start at $38 and are available at muscocenter.org.

Musco Center for the Arts is located at 415 N. Glassell St., Orange.

Jerry Douglas Brings His Band’s Genre-Bending Sound to Musco Center

10.12.26

Musco Center welcomes Dobro master Jerry Douglas and his band to the stage on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m. for an evening that stretches far beyond bluegrass's traditional borders.

The New York Times has called Douglas "Dobro's matchless contemporary master," and it's easy to see why. A 14-time Grammy winner, he has produced more than 100 albums and appeared on over 1,600 studio recordings. He's a longtime member of Alison Krauss & Union Station, co-bandleader of the Transatlantic Sessions in the United Kingdom, and founder of the Grammy-winning bluegrass supergroup The Earls of Leicester. On top of all that, he leads The Jerry Douglas Band, a project that has become one of his most personal musical outlets.

Formed in 2017, The Jerry Douglas Band draws deep from bluegrass and folk roots while branching into Americana and jazz. In 2021, the group released "Leftover Feelings" with legendary singer-songwriter John Hiatt, earning a Grammy nomination for best Americana album. Their previous record, "What If," was also nominated, for best contemporary instrumental album. The band has performed at some of the country's top festivals, including Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Pilgrimage Music Festival, Big Ears Festival, DelFest, FreshGrass, Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival and MerleFest.

Joining Douglas on stage are Daniel Kimbro on bass, Christian Sedelmyer on fiddle and Mike Seal on guitar, rounding out a lineup known for its virtuosic chemistry and genre-blurring range.

The performance runs approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.

Runtime: Approximately 90 minutes, there will be no intermission.

Tickets start at $43. For tickets and more information, visit muscocenter.org.
